How To Get Rid Of Deer Flies
You might look goofy for a day or two, but this is totally worth it. If you are on the same trail’s day in and day out, you should only have to walk around like this a couple times before you have taken out all the flies in that area. They typically stick within 100 feet from their nest and you will notice them deplete in numbers when you walk through there like a bad ass!
What you need to rid these nasty things:
· A pole, rod, or something stick like (snow plow straight guides, Shepard hook, etc)
· Tanglefoot
· Bright Blue Spray Paint (this is only if you don’t have anything bright blue)
Step 1
If you don’t have anything blue, use the blue spray paint to paint the object you are using to attract these beasts.
Step 2
Once the paint is done drying, or you found a blue object to use, spray that object with a couple of coats of Tanglefoot.
Step 3
Now the fun part. You get to walk around with this object you’ve chosen to spray. This is why a hard had is suggested if you are going for a walk or trail riding. Simply just place the object upon your head and go! They will stick to your new outfit.
